Jacquie Tjandra, BSW, MSW, RSW

Jacquie's counselling practice fulfils her passion for building and strengthening relationships. Using attachment-based and trauma-informed counselling approaches, she works with individuals, children, adolescents, parents and couples to find ways to build, support and repair relationships. With over 30 years of social work practice, she brings experience from child welfare,  working with birth, foster, kin and adoptive families and adoption reunion. She has also worked in counselling agencies and children’s mental health settings. In addition to her Social Work degrees, Jacquie has also been trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (aka Attachment-Focused Family Therapy)  with Dr. Daniel Hughes. She is a designated trainer for Pathways to Permanence: Parenting a Child Who has Experienced Trauma and Loss and ACT - Adoption Compendency Training for professionals through the Adoption Council of Ontario.

 Jacquie's specialties include:

· Assisting adoptive and foster and kin parents to build connected relationships with their children
· Supporting caregivers to parent a child who has experienced trauma
· Counselling to Adopted Adults and Birth Family Members
